2.实用对话

Selling a Qipao销售旗袍

Assistant: Can I help you?

店员：要买点什么吗？

Customer: I want to buy a Qipao for my girlfriend. She has really wanted one for a long time and it's her birthday soon, so I thought I might surprise her.

顾客：我想给我女朋友买一件旗袍。她已经想要好久了，而且她快过生日了，我想给她一个惊喜。

Assistant: We have Qipaos of various materials, colors and pattems. Do you have any ideal what style she might be interested in?

店员：我们有各种布料、颜色和式样的旗袍。您知道她喜欢哪一种吗？

Customer: She wants a pure Chinese silk Qipao. And she has partiality for purple among all the colors. Not any decorative pattern.

Assistant: Let me see...how about this one? This material is of good quality and holds color well.

店员：我看看…您看这件怎么样？这种料子质量很好，不会褪色。

Customer: To tell the truth. I don't know much about Chinese silk.

Please let me see the best you have. That will be OK.

顾客：说真的，我不太了解中国丝绸。你就给我拿的就行了。

Assistant: This is really what your girlfriend wants.

店员：这正是你女朋友想要的那种。

Customer: Very beautiful. I'll take it.

3.详细解说

1.“旗袍”也可以称作“cheongsam”。男士穿的“大褂、长衫”称作“changshan”。后来流行起来的中山装（Chungshan suit或Zhongshan suit）在西方国家普遍称为“Mao suit"。

2.“Do you have any idea+疑问词…？”相当于“Do you know+疑问词…？”，意思是“你知道…吗？”。

3.“have partiality for sth.”表示“对某物特别偏爱，对某物情确独钟”，是一种比较正式的说法，例如：She has a partiality for exotic flowers.（她对外来品种的花特别偏爱。）

4.“某人／某物+ be+of+抽象名词”结构说明这个被修饰的人或物具有“某种特征或属性”，常用的这类抽象名词有“use，importance，help，value, interest, quality, benefit, necessity"等,例如 : Doing morning exercises will be of benefit to your health.（晨练对你的健康有利。）
