Jack: Hi. long time no see!

Kate: Hello, how are you?

Jack: Not bad. Not as good as you seem though. You're pretty happy. What's going on?
杰克：不错。不过没你看上去那么好。你这么高兴。有什么事吗？
Kate: Yes, I am. I passed the GRE) and I'm feeling good about it.
凯特：是啊，我是高兴。我通过了GRE考试，现在感觉很不错。
Jack: That is wonderful news! It's too good to be true.

Kate: I'm off to the US to study law next month at Columbia University in New York. I have always wanted to go there, and
now I have this big chance.

Jack: Sounds very exciting! You must be thrilled,
杰克：听起来真是令人兴奋啊！你一定很激动吧。
Kate: I am. I can hardly sleep these days.

Jack: Make sure you write or call or send me e-mails from New York.
杰克：你一定要从纽约给我写信、打电话或者发电子邮件啊。
Kate: Of course. I have my camera. so you'll be getting lots of e-mails with lots of pictures.
凯特：当然了。我带着我的相机，到时候给你发许多带照片的电子邮件。
3.详细解说
1.“Long time no see.”的意思是“好久不见”，相当于“Haven't seen you for a lone time.”或“Haven't seen You for ages.”。属
于非正式英语口语。
2.“though”在这里的意思是“然而，可是”，多用于口语。作此义讲时，“though”一般置于句尾。例如：It was hard work;I enjoyed it though.（那工作很辛苦，但我却做得很愉快。）
3.“GRE”是“Graduate Record Examination”的缩写，指“美国研究生入学考试”。
4.英语中有一些词，它们可以表示否定含义：hardly几乎不、rarely很少、 few没几个、little没多少、seldom很少、 scarcely极少、
never从不。当这些词放在句首时，句子要用倒装结构，例如对话中的“I can hardly sleep these days.”，若要将“hardly”提前，就要将这个句子改成“Hardly can I sleep these days.”的形式。
