迟早的事情
Subject：It is a matter of time.
情景对话：
A: I am very tired recently. I have spent much timeon the job.
我最近很累，在这项工作上花了很多时间。
B: You will succeed this time. It is only a matter oftime.
你这次会成功的，这是迟早的事情。
地道表达
only a matter of time
1. 解词释义
A matter of time的字面意思是“时间的问题或时间的事情”，也就是“迟早的事情”。表示某事最终会发生或者是人总要面对某事。其英文解释为：sure to happen at some time in the future。它在使用时，要和only，simply 或者是 just连用。
2. 拓展例句
e.g. It's just a matter of time before prices for the newest computer come down.
电脑的价格下跌是迟早的事情。
e.g. It is only a matter of time before everything is settled.
现在万事俱全只是时机未到。
e.g. Come on, it's only a matter of time before someone owns the information
何必呢，这些信息迟早都会被人知道的。
e.g. It' s simply a matter of time before the rebels are crushed.
把这些叛乱分子镇压下去只是迟早的事。
e.g. It's only a matter of time before he stumbles on the seeds of an inside drug operation.
他就发现了警察内部贩毒的端倪是迟早的事情。
Ps：spend some time on something的意思是“花费多少时间做某事”。例如：
How much time do you spend on the Internet?
你上网要花多少时间？
His work was cramped by the very short time he could spend on it.
因为他只能以很短的时间用于他的工作上，使得他的工作受到限制。
How long did you spend on your homework?
你做作业用了多长时间？
