　　A wise woman who was traveling in the mountains found a precious stone in a stream. The next day she met another traveler who was hungry, and the wise woman opened her bag to shareher food. The hungry traveler saw the precious stone in the wise woman’s bag, admired it, and asked the wise woman to give it to him. The wise woman did so without hesitation.

　　一位聪明女子游山玩水时在一条小溪里找到了一块宝石。第二天，她碰到了另外一个游客，他饿着肚子，聪明女子就把自己的包打开分些吃的给他。那位饥饿的游客看到了包里的宝石，称赞了它，并要求聪明女子把宝石给他。聪明女子毫不犹豫就给他了。

　　The traveler left, rejoicing in his good fortune. He knew the jewel was worth enough to give himsecurity for the rest of his life.

　　游客走了，庆幸自己走了好运。他知道那块宝石的价值足以让他后半生无忧了。

　　But a few days later he came back, searching for the wise woman. When he found her, he returned the stone and said, “I have been thinking. I know how valuable this stone is, but I give it back to you in the hope that you can give me something much more precious. If you can, give me what you have within you that enabled you to give me the stone.”

　　可是几天之后他又回来了，到处寻找聪明女子。找到她之后，他归还宝石并说：“我一直在想这件事，我知道这块宝石有多值钱，可我现在还给你，希望你能给我更珍贵的东西。如果可以，就把你内心具备的能令你毫不犹豫送出宝石的品质传给我吧。”
