之前说过一些与购物有关的表达,下面的内容着重讨论一下“价格”问题。
01、buy sth.on impulse冲动购买
I usually buy many clothes on impulse.
我常常一冲动就买很多衣服。
对话
A:Why did you buy a green shirt?
你为什么买了一件绿色的衬衫?
B:I bought it on impulse.
我一冲动就买了。
buy sth.on impulse 是动词短语
其名词短语是 impulse buying
02、pay in installments分期付款
I paid for a car in installments.
我以分期付款的方式买了一辆车。
对话
A:Will you pay in full or installments?
您是一次性付清,还是分期付款?
B:I will pay in installments.
我要分期付款。
“按月分期付款”:pay in monthly installments
“一次性付清”:pay in full
03、fair price公道的价格
单词fair的意思是“公道的”
The products in our store are guaranteed genuine goods at a fair price.
我们店确保商品货真价实。
对话
A:$35 is a fair price.
35美元是很公道的价格了。
B:I will consider it carefully.
我会好好考虑一下的。
意思相对的“不公道的价格”
用英语表示是unfair price
04、buy on credit刷信用卡购买
I bought a television on credit.
我刷信用卡买了一台电视。
对话
A:Will you buy it on credit or cash?
您是刷信用卡还是付现金?
B:On credit.
刷信用卡。
购物时通常会有两种付款方式
即pay in credit card“刷信用卡”
和pay in cash“付现金”
05、buy...at 30% off以七折购买
I bought a mobile phone at 30% off.
我以七折的价格买了一部手机。
对话
A:I want to buy it at 30% off.
我想以七折的价格购买。
B:I can't give you more than a 20% discount.
我最多只能给你打八折。
我们通常用discount来表示“折扣”
所以“以七折购买”还可以表示成
buy it at a 30% discount
06、bargain讲价
“讲价”是要“讲”没错
但它的英文表达里没有speak
而是用bargain来表示,也就是我们常说的“砍价”
When I'm shopping,I always bargain with the seller.
我在购物时经常和售货员讲价。
对话
A:I don't like bargaining when shopping.
买东西时我不喜欢讲价。
B:But if you bargain you might save some money.
但是如果你讲价的话,可能会省点钱。
在购物时,买卖双方经常会“讨价还价”,英文表达是haggle
07、tip小费
不要看到“小费”中有个“小”字
就认为表达中应该包含small
其实“小费”直接用tip表示就可以
I gave the waiter a $10 tip.
我给了服务员10美元的小费。
对话
A:How much did you give the waiter as a tip?
你给了服务员多少小费?
B:15 dollars.
15美元。
tip也可以作动词,意为“付小费”
如:tip the waiter 5 dollars
“给服务员5美元小费”
08、raise the price涨价
They raise the price of the vegetables.
蔬菜涨价了。
对话
A:Why did you raise the price?
你们怎么涨价了?
B:It is because of the rising cost.
因为成本上涨了。
“涨价”还可以表示成bring the price up
另外,“降价”可以用lower the price表示
09、overcharge敲竹杠
“敲竹杠”也经常说成“宰人”
就是指找借口抬高价格
所以用英语可以表示为overcharge
I didn't buy that computer because they overcharged me.
因为他们敲我竹杠,我没有买那台电脑。
对话
A:They overcharged me 20 dollars for the dinner last night.
昨晚那顿饭他们敲我竹杠了,多收了我20美元。
B:That's unfortunate.
真不走运啊!

还可以用rip sb.off来表示
