We shouldn't regard work just as a bread-winning process. We should take a wider perspective on work. I regard my job a means to an end. It enables me to make enough money to live well. I'm happy. I find a comfortable life compensates for the fact that I have a routine life and three weeks' holiday per year. Everything becomes routine after a while. But, if you want, you can make the routine a creative experience. With the money I make, I can make up for the loss of variety during my 9-5 job five days a week on the weekend. It gives me the mental satisfaction that I need.
Work is a way of life, a mental challenge, an emotional involvement. When you take home a paycheck, it means more than dollars and cents. You need to realize that you're not just keeping the livelihood of your family, you're making a substantial contribution to the well-being of the community as well. And when high financial rewards are combined with high status along the corporate or social ladder, it brings both social and personal esteem. Your job just becomes more fulfilling.
Work give people a sense of independence from family. Your life extends from your living room to the office and meeting room of your company. And it helps a person find meaning in life and a way to enhance his or her self-worth. I think to work is human need and unique human characteristic.
