Ever since he could remember, Dennis had liked exceedingly fast speed. He had dreamed of being a racing car driver, but instead, had become a driving instructor. One day, a friend of his who was an executive, asked Dennis to teach his executive assistant to drive, because without exception, she drove too slowly. On their first excursion Dennis asked her to execute a right hand turn into an exclusive part of town where there would be fewer drivers to take exception to her lack of speed. However, in her excessive excitement, her foot slipped, and the car suddenly went in excess of the speed limit.Dennis wanted to exclude the possibility of a crash, or the police might exclaim that this excess speed was likely to cause one.But it also made him feel excited to exceed the speed limit, so he said nothing. There was then an exchange of words, in which Dennis became excited to excess when told that he was not exclusive in his liking for speed. He suggested they should exchange places behind the wheel, otherwise he would have to exaggerate the risks of driving too fast.
