What did they invent?

　　In 1903, Mary Anderson and a friend were driving to New York. It was raining heavily and they had to open the windows oftheir car and put their heads out to see better. Suddenly Mary had an idea.

　　1903年，玛丽·安德森和一个朋友开车去纽约。雨下得很大，他们不得不打开车窗，把头伸出来看清楚。玛丽突然有了一个主意。

　　In 1869, Tomas Adams was trying to produce rubber out of the juice he got from Mexican sapodilla trees. He wanted to produce toys, rain boots and bicycle tyres. The experiment didn’t work. While he was thinking about this, he took a piece of the rubber he was working with and put it in his mouth.

　　1869年，托马斯·亚当斯试图用他从墨西哥皂荚树上得到的汁液生产橡胶。他想生产玩具、雨鞋和自行车轮胎。但实验并没有成功。当他在思考这个的时候，他拿了一块橡皮放进了嘴里。
