Task 1
最常考核的两类 生命循环 和 制作工序 在同一张图里
【Introduction】略
The lifecycle begins with the adult moth laying eggs. It takes 10 days for an egg to grow into the silkworm larva, which feeds on the mulberry leaf. After 4 to 6 weeks, the larva produces the silk thread for 3 to 8 days and makes a cocoon, in which the larva will be transformed. There are 16 days for the larva to grow into the moth in the cocoon, and as soon as the moth comes out and lays eggs, the lifecycle starts anew.
The initial steps of producing silk cloth are that cocoons are selected and boiled in water. The next step is to unwind boiled cocoons into threads whose lengths range/vary from 300 to 900 meters. Next, the threads are twisted. To finalize the production, either of two possible ways are adopted. One way is that threads are dyed and woven into cloth, and the other way is to weave the threads into cloth before coloration.
总结 生命循环 时,就说“长短”
总结 制作工序 时,就说“繁简”
Overall, the lifecycle of the silkworm is short, spanning only a few months, and the procedure for making silk cloth is not complex.
Task 2
Mothers often decide to stay at home to look after their family instead of going to work.
Do you think the government should pay them a salary for it?
Many women who are mothers quit their jobs and stay at home to raise their children. Although child-rearing is a job that is not easy, it is not a professional job and, as a result, does not deserve any money from the government.
Typically, stay-at-home mothers take care of the children. These mothers deserve a salary for nurturing [nurture] a nation’s future, which is as important as or even more significant than bringing home bread and butter. Since a society willharvest productive and functional adults as the result of females’ cultivating the children well, it definitely should pay these females. Although this logic istenable, the job does not have to be done by the mothers; instead, it can be done by child education professionals.
The policy may be taken advantage of by some females. It is not unlikely that some mothers do not fulfill their domestic duty but receive the allowance. For example, some mothers may use the money to hire caretakers, and they rest and play. Even if they do not slack, they may be incapable of doing the job well, in which case they may not deserve the money. In addition, since this program may be a long-term or permanent one, the money paid to the mothers may be an unaffordable colossal sum where the population of the mothers is massive.
In conclusion, while raising children is important, the job does not necessarily deserve the pay, not to mention that the job may not be properly done. When mothers make the decision, they are advised not to have the expectation of the pay.
