描述你在过去丢失的重要东西,同学们可以用骗取游客善心的招数为例,搞一段丢东西的经历:
This topic reminds me of the time I lost my wallet in Paris.
Here’s what happened.
A year ago, I took a trip to Paris to visit one of my friends. And one day, on my way to his school from my hotel, some girls came up to me, and asked me to sign my name on a piece of paper and donate 1 euro, I was told it was for charity, you know, about helping blind people or whatever. Anyway, after they were gone, I realized my wallet was missing. I was pretty sure I put it in the front pocket of my bag, but the zip was open and I couldn’t find my wallet.
I panicked, ‘cause my ID card and my hotel key was in my wallet, and of course, some cash, about 200 euro, I didn’t remember how much exactly. I didn’t know what to do, so I went to the police station.
The police asked me what happened. They said I was trapped. It was a typical trick they would play on a tourist. They would ask you for something, like a pen or a cigarette, to distract your attention, and when you are talking to them, their partner would steal your wallet or cell phone immediately.
I never got my wallet back, but I learned an important lesson. When you are alone in a foreign country, you have to be extra careful, and now I just feel so lucky that I didn’t put my passport in my wallet.
