用法1
两者都可表示“打字”,但现在一般只用 type。如:
Do you know how to type? 你会打字吗?
Your job is to type the memo. 你的任务是把备忘录打出来。
This will need to be typed (out) again. 这份文稿要重打一遍。
Type this again as I showed you a moment ago. 把这份材料按我刚才告诉你的那样再打一遍。
Since you can’t type the letter yourself, you’ll have to ask Susan to do it for you. 既然你自己不能用打字机打这封信,那你就请苏珊替你打吧。
用法2
在现代英语中,typewrite 通常只于两个派生词:
(1) typewriter:其意为“打字机”,如:(from www.yywords.com)
He watched the typewriter carried out of the door. 他瞧着打字机被搬出门去。
“I was wondering if I could borrow your typewriter. ”— “Sorry. I’m using it. ” “我能否借用一下你的打字机?”“对不起,我在用。”
We’ve got one micro and two electric typewriters m our office. 我们办公室有一台微机和两台电动打字机。(G12)
比较:typist 指“打字员”。如:
There is a great demand for typists. 需要大量的打字员。
(2) typewritten 打印的(指用打字机打印的)。
