一、三个被忽略的事实

● 新托福独立写作不一定需要三个分论点展开中间段落。4 段或5 段是官方范文中常见的规格，其中4 段体意味着中间段落只有两段作为分论点， ETS 的第三版 《新托福考试官方指南》 336 和337 页中给出的两篇5 分官方范文均为4 段体，同学们可以参考。另外，《新托福写作真经2》中大部分高分范文都是4 段体。如果两段分论点可以证明文章的中心思想，考生没必要非要写出三段论点，这样做也可以在考试时节省时间。

● 第三版《新托福考试官方指南》中收录的三篇5 分官方范文(p211, p336 和p337)均为“一边倒”的写法。而在其他托福写作教材所收录的范文中“一边倒”的写法也多于“折中式”。建议同学们使用“一边倒”，容易构思，逻辑不混乱，因为，繁琐的逻辑结构会对阅卷人的心理影响很大，要体谅阅卷人的感受，才能拿高分。

● 大多数范文的结构为：首段、中间段、末段，但有些官方高分范文把中间段和结尾结合在一起，比如第三版《新托福考试官方指南》211 页中收录的5 分官方范文。由此，我们可以看出新托福独立写作对结构的要求并不死板，中心明确，分论点能够有利支持中心，语言中语病不多，表达通顺就能得到高分。

二、独立写作的结构与逻辑

● 首段结构：中心观点+ 分论点概括

以范文为例，破解各种首段展开方式，启发考生以简明、快捷的方式完成开头段落， 给阅卷人留下好印象，为拿取高分作文奠定基础。

● 中间段的结构：论点(Topic Sentence) + 论据(Details)

尽量不要突兀地写For example, 需要指明例子之前的论点句。对此，范文中给出了多种方便、容易操作的中间段落展开方式。

三、例题讲解

下面我们以2011 年01 月15 日的北美写作真题为例，带着大家走一遍独立作文的解题流程，相信每个同学都会得到一些启发，为取得高分积累宝贵经验。

Independent Writing Task

Some people think university professors should spend more time doing research while others think they should spend more time educating students. What is your view?

四、解析与逻辑

Introduction 首段

题干的核心词总会为我们展开首段提供突破口， 如：university professors，然后再联想我们自己的老师，他们是及时为我们解惑还是忙于自己的学术研究?也许都有。 因此，我们可以写出下面的内容：

Body 中间段

本段强调做学术研究的重要性。

本段讨论教学的重要性。

Conclusion 末段

提示：可以在末段的两句话中间加入以下内容。If an instructor is not given enough time to pursue his or her own academic interests, he or she is not likely to achieve any achievement in his or her field. On the other hand, if he or she is never around when he or she is needed for students, the pupils become disenchanted and make complaints or withdraw from the school altogether.
